With its uplifting citrus scent, we often refer to May Chang as our “happy” oil. It has calming and balancing properties that may help with mental stability and strength.

May Chang is steam distilled from the berries of the Litsea cubeba tree that grows natively in China and parts of Southeast Asia. Its lemon-like scent is often compared to that of Lemongrass, however, May Chang has a much sweeter aroma.

When using an aroma diffuser, May Chang has uplifting qualities that can help with overall physical and mental wellbeing

Essential Oil FAQs

Have your essential oils or products been tested on animals?

Absolutely not! We pride ourselves on being a completely cruelty-free brand. In addition, all our Zea Relief products have not and will not ever be tested on animals

Your essential oils cost less than other brands, how can you offer such low prices?

At Zea Relief we have established long-standing relations with our essential oil producers over the past 25 years. We pass this experience on to consumers in the form of affordable pricing. We use the same quality essential oils as other companies; we just choose to price our essential oils with the best interest of our customers in mind. By not marking up our essential oils, as many competitors do, we can offer premium quality oils at an affordable price.

Can you guarantee the quality of your essential oils?

Yes, we can. With 25+ years of experience in the aromatherapy and essential oil industry, we have a lot of confidence in our supplies from all over the world. We only sell 100% pure essential oils.

Is the quality of Zea Relief Essential Oils the same as Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) companies?

Absolutely. In fact, in a lot of cases, we actually source our premium essential oils from the same farmers as a lot of the major essential oil corporations from around the world. The only real difference between us and well-known brands on the market is that it is only us - a small Australian family business - with over 25 years of experience in essential oils. This understanding of the industry is why we can sell our premium essential oils at such an affordable price.

Are your essential oils diluted or watered down in any way?

No. Every essential oil on our website is 100% pure.

This was a total surprise the first time I got it, had heard a lot about Litsea but didn’t realise it is the same as May Chang. So glad I found out and ordered straight away. Loved it so much that this is the second bottle! Very refreshing!

ANAZING.....

I LOVE this oil, have never tried it before and it was Love @ first smell. Thankyou Zea... But do wish the products were from Australia and not China..... I can't wait to purchase the pack you have available to try them all. I put on my diffuser after a long day renovating and just breath in the goodness.

Hi Belinda :) that is great to hear! Where possible we source our pure essential oils from Australia, however, some oils (such as Frankincense, May Chang and Patchouli) are not produced locally, so we responsibly source the ingredients internationally from their native country of origin. In this case, Litsea cubeba is the plant is not grown in Australia for its essential oil.

However they are still produced in Australia, with all testing, packaging, warehousing and distribution conducted in Australia.

If you want a similar scent to May Chang that is grown and distilled 100% in Australia, I would recommend either Lemon Ironbark or Lemon Myrtle.

Kunzea Use

Hi
I purchased your cream to try it on my husband. He has Parkinson's disease and gets restless legs as well as cramping most nights. I have tried using magnesium oil to relieve him but the kunzea he now prefers as it is non great as well as helpful for his pain and condition. I have recommended it to other friends and family as well.

May Chang

Disappointed to see that the oil comes from China and is only bottled in Australia.

Hi John - sorry to hear you are disappointed. Where possible we source most our pure essential oils from Australia, however, some oils (such as May Chang and Frankincense) are not produced locally, so we responsibly source internationally from their native country of origin. All testing, packaging, warehousing and distribution is conducted in Australia. I hope that makes sense!

My favourite go to oil

First time I have purchased this oil. I have been using this in the family room diffuser and we love it a strong sweet scent . A little goes a long way as I learnt when I put too many drops in and the scent was overpowering , once I re diluted the volume in diffuser it was perfect . Most oils I add three drops to 200mls this one is definitely one drop .
